Maintenance
Introduction
Cleaning
We carry out cleaning services as well as management of such duties at racecourses and off-track betting facilities based on the concept of “eco-recycling”.
Our aim is to provide cleaning services of racecourses and off-track betting facilities and to create a comfortable and safe environment so that our horseracing fans will want to visit repeatedly. We try our best to sort and recycle the waste.

During lunch break at a race meeting, cleaning staff will walk inside the facilities with bags to collect garbage. We kindly ask the fans for their cooperation.

We are trying our best to recycle the sorted waste and be environmentally friendly.
Cleaning of stables
Management of Facilities
We monitor the training of horses at the stable areas of racecourses and training centers as well as manage the facilities.
1. Monitoring of training
We monitor the training of horses at Ritto Training Center and Miho Training Center in order to avoid accidents and ensure the safety of humans and horses.
2. Equine Swimming Pool
We operate and manage the Equine Swimming Pool, which acts as one of the training facilities for improving the racehorses’ ability, and work to create a safe environment that will enable all stable-related personnel to use these swimming facilities with ease.
3. Prevention of epidemics
We disinfect the stalls and their surroundings regularly based on an epidemic-prevention plan. In addition, we also disinfect the stall whenever a horse has been replaced.
4. Shipment of sample
Urine or blood samples of the first, second and third horses in a race, or any other requested horse, are extracted at the sample collection center within the racecourse and based on the requirements of the Horse Racing Law as well as the Japan Racing Association Rules of Racing, the Samples are used for drug tests at an inspection institute. We send these extracted urine or blood samples to the testing authority.
5. Compost plant
The manure and bedding discarded daily from the stables at Ritto and Miho Training Centers are microbially fermented into compost in the compost plant, which is later sent to places with demand.
6. Other facilities
In order to provide comfortable living and facilities to all those involved in horseracing, we operate and manage a number of dormitories at the racecourses and training centers.
Maintenance of Tracks and Garden Landscaping
We support in ensuring the safety of the racehorses and exciting racing.
We carry out all-round maintenance throughout the year of JRA’s racecourses and training centers’ tracks and other facilities relating to race horses. At the racecourse, we take extreme care of tracks to offer gentle and easy-to-run surfaces for the horses as well as providing fair running conditions to all the racehorses. We also carry out maintenance and landscaping of gardens to keep them beautiful and clean, providing an appropriate setting for welcoming racing fans to the racecourses.
During weekdays when there are no races, we conduct careful daily maintenance work in preparation for the next race meeting.
At the training centers, we carry out daily maintenance to ensure the best track conditions in order to make sure no trouble arises during training.

Maintenance of Buildings and Facilities
We carry out maintenance work of all the buildings within the racecourses, training centers, the JRA Horseracing School and the JRA Equestrian Park.
JRA is determined to offer comfortable and safe buildings to all racing fans as well as all the personnel involved in racehorses and stables.
To provide a safe and comfortable environment for racing fans to enjoy horseracing during the racing days, we not only conduct maintenance of JRA racecourse stands, but we also check all buildings including those within the tracks, in addition to inspection and repair of children’s playground facilities.
Likewise, we also inspect and repair all the buildings at the training centers. We conduct this with great care, such as making sure we don’t make much noise which will irritate the racehorses and prevent them from staying relaxed before running in a race.
We also conduct maintenance work of all the buildings within the JRA Horseracing School and the JRA Equestrian Park.

Management of Electricity and Utilities
We carry out maintenance of electricity and other utilities at the racecourses, off-track betting facilities and training centers.
We perform integrated management of electricity and utilities in order to provide comfortable and safe environment to all JRA fans, and likewise, to ensure that all matters related JRA racing will be conducted without trouble.
We carry out inspections, repairs and maintenances of various utilities on ordinary days and preparations for comfortable and safe racing on racing days.
We implement maintenances of electricity, information and communication, air conditioning, elevators, plumbing and fire protection facilities, such as round inspection of substations, to ensure a smooth racing operation.
We also work hard on energy saving in accordance with the Energy Saving Act.
